CDI College's Medical Laboratory Assistant diploma program combines theory-base study and hands-on learning to prepare students to find employment in a medical lab setting.
This program covers a wide range of subjects including medical terminology, clinical laboratory practices, anatomy, physiology, laboratory math, biology and chemistry. Students will also gain a broad understanding of laboratory microbiology and hematology. In addition, students will also learn about safety procedures, ethical behavior and legislation related to this profession. Prior to graduation, students must complete a 120-hour clinical placement in a laboratory setting outside of the campus.
Career opportunities for graduates of this program exist in private diagnostic testing, public health, hospitals, quality control, veterinary labs and physician's offices or clinics.
